### Begin with the business day

Painting a shop, office, or studio involves more than choosing walls and colors. Write down your opening hours, busy periods, deliveries, appointments, and the areas people need to reach. Share the dates that matter before a schedule is agreed.

### Describe the spaces that must stay usable

A reception desk, a studio workbench, or the only route to a restroom can shape the work sequence. Mark areas that may be closed temporarily and those that need a different plan. Any phased schedule should be agreed in the scope, including the practical limits on access during preparation, application, and drying.

### Give equipment and stock their own plan

Discuss who will move display items, stock, artwork, desks, and equipment. Identify sensitive items and any handling instructions. A clear responsibility list helps avoid assumptions about what will be ready when work begins.

For a rented space, confirm the property owner's requirements and your authority to approve the work before committing to changes. Share any building access procedures that affect the visit or project.

### Plan the return to normal use

Ask when each surface can be used, when items can be put back, and what the selected coating requires before cleaning. A finishing date and the return of every part of the space to normal use may involve different considerations.

### Request a scope that matches the operation

Include the rooms and surfaces, preparation, protection, agreed work windows, cleanup, and walkthrough in the project conversation. If hours or phases change, update the agreement rather than relying on an informal assumption.
